Sara Sjölund is a London based writer, producer and entrepreneur and an ambassador for AmazoniAlerta. She started her career at The Boston Consulting Group in San Francisco before joining EMI Music. Whilst there, she worked in the global CEO’s office advising on artist-signings, new revenue streams and major initiatives such as the remastering of The Beatles catalogue and digital deals with iTunes and Spotify.
She spent five years as Managing Director of Intelligence Squared, a leading forum for live, agenda setting debates, talks and discussions. During her time there, she worked with a wide range of speakers including Yuval Noah Harari, Malala Yousafzai, Marina Abramovich, Jonathan Franzen, Steven Pinker, Eric Schmidt, Thomas Friedman, Niall Ferguson, Sheryl Sandberg, Richard Dawkins, Stephen Fry and the Freakonomics team. She also partnered with organisations such as Google, The World Health Organisation, The BBC, The Royal Opera House and Vanity Fair for bespoke events and broadcasts.
Her work as a creative consultant includes brands such as Aesop, Métier and BCG. As an editor, she has collaborated with several award winning, Sunday Times Bestselling and MAN Booker Price shortlisted authors. She has served on the board of Artcry, a non-profit organisation supporting political artworks in public spaces, and been a member of the Leonardo Group at King’s College London’s Science Gallery, a flagship public-facing facility connecting art, science and health to foster innovation.
Born and raised in Sweden, Sara holds a double major in Comparative Literature and Political Science from the University of Pennsylvania and an honours certificate in Mandarin Chinese from the Beijing Language and Culture University.
